Request a blended program

Special education parents wouldn’t you just love a blended program that allows your student to be mainstreamed but also allows them to be in mild and moderate special education classes for specific subjects. Some districts have already allowed these programs to exist but our school district has been late to the party.In our school district you have to usually pick mainstreaming or being in special education. Then you have to pick mild/college track versus moderate to severe life skills track.

But IDEA law is very clear that you have to tailor the program for each individual kid. Which means this practice is actually illegal. So there is one school in our district that has started a pilot program with 2 kids to allow blended with all 3 mainstreaming, mild and moderate classes. If interested please email me because we need to show the district that they need to support this program because there is a huge need.
